Once the Northwest’s largest tuberculosis isolation hospital, surrounded by green lawns and shade trees. In 1943 King County assumed responsibility for Firland and patients from here and the former King County tuberculosis sanatoria, Morningside and Meadows, were transported to the “new” Firland, a decommissioned Naval Hospital at 15th Avenue NE and 150th Street in present day Shoreline.
