In 1943 King County assumed responsibility for Firland and patients from here and the former King County tuberculosis sanatoria, Morningside and Meadows, were transported to the “new” Firland, a decommissioned Naval Hospital at 15th Avenue NE and 150th Street in present day Shoreline.
