Amanda Park

A small settlement a few hundred yards from the lake, which is blocked from view here by a dense forest. It was founded in 1925 as a tourist camp with summer homes for rent or sale. The name is for the wife of J. J. Southard, co-founder of the place.

Quinault Lake, part of the Quinault Reservation, is situated in a recreational area of great beauty. Tribal members of the Quinault Indian Nation have lived for centuries at Taholah, at the mouth of the river.
