The tour skirts the great frowning cliffs of Archer Mountain. Of the many legends and folk tales that have grown up around these conspicuous cliffs, the leading ones deal with the “Hermit of Archer Mountain,” who lived on top of a 2,000-foot cliff in a house built of materials salvaged from a wrecked river boat.
