Bumping Lake

A tiny settlement on the shore of Bumping Lake, in the heart of the Cascade Mountains. The lake serves as a reservoir for irrigation purposes in the lower Yakima Valley. Numerous mountain trails lead from here.

In 1856, it was mapped as Lake Plehnam, and, in 1897, as Tannum Lake. Other names once used include Tanum and Taneum.
