Darknell

A railroad siding between Fairfield and Rockford. It was named for a pioneer farmer, George Darknell, who settled there in 1880. Darknell came to Washington in 1880 living southwest of Rockford. He was active in civic affairs and served as the mayor of Fairfield, a school director, and supervisor in his township.
