This highway overlook is fed by the backwaters of the Columbia River. Fishermen once told of an enormous sturgeon here, weighing perhaps 1,000 pounds, which eluded the juiciest baits and the most ingenious nets. The road winds up and down through beautiful green country and wooded hills, and affords a view of silvery Multnomah Falls, on the Oregon side.
