Saint Martins Hot Springs

Visit a historic, and currently active, hot springs resort on this short three-mile trek.

Sixty years ago, the St. Martins family opened this resort on the west bank of Wind River, opposite the mouth of Little Wind River and the dark, green-forested pyramid of Buck Mountain. Descendants operate it today, Rows of white and green cottages originally overlooked an attractive glen, with hot mineralized baths offered in an adjunct to Hotel St. Martins, a three-story white frame building.

Now called Carson Hot Springs Resort, the grounds were remodeled to combine the more than 100-year old spa with a newly developed golf course on the adjacent property. The small 1923 green and white cabins were replaced in 2005 with a new two-story, 28-room modern wood and tile building and the 1923 bathhouse, which still uses original cast iron tubs, is scheduled to be remodeled next. The original hotel (1901) is closed to visitors except for the parlor area, where guests check in.
