Offering mass in Spanish to serve the Latino community of Southeast Seattle, St. Edward’s Church built in 1957 is a magnificent example of Mid-century Modern religious architecture. The long vaulted nave of the church, stained glass clerestory windows and exterior mosaic convey the traditional building features of the Catholic faith, while the simple modern lines of the design speak of the modern architecture created all over Latin America during the 20th century. The impeccable condition of the building and its artistic features are remarkable.
