Saint Mary’s is a diverse parish serving a primarily immigrant community. Masses are celebrated in both English and Spanish, and the church calendar is filled with cultural events showcasing the diversity of its parishioners. Masses in Spanish are packed with Latinos from all over Mexico, Central and South America. The relaxed atmosphere and tight community feeling attest to the significant role St. Mary’s plays in the life of Latinos in the Central District of Seattle. The impressive Gothic Revival style church was built in 1911 and features an expansive vaulted interior space and stained glass windows.
