Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience (#07)

East Kong Yick Building; Freeman Hotel

The museum is named after Wing Luke, the first Asian Pacific American elected to public office in the Pacific Northwest in 1962. He led Seattle’s first Human Rights Commission and was a powerful advocate for open and fair housing laws. The museum is housed in the historic East Kong Yick Building, also known as the Freeman Hotel.
