Lake Forest Park

The name was given when the area was platted and was once covered with a forest of coniferous trees. Doug Cardle, in his book on King County place names, wrote that Ole Hanson, later Mayor of Seattle, platted the region in 1910 and named it “…for a steamboat skipper who hailed from Lake Forest, Illinois.”
