Longbranch

Founded in 1891, is a colony of country estates and summer homes screened by dense evergreen woods bordering Filuce Bay, whose shallow waters offer good crab fishing.

It was named by an early resident for Long Branch, New Jersey. At various periods of time the place has been also known as Longbranch.

Longbranch School Gymnasium

Longbranch School Gymnasium is the large, A-frame, wood and stone structure built in 1939 by the WPA as a school gymnasium which is significant because it is the first time the federal government became directly involved in local school building construction. It is maintained by the Longbranch Improvement Club and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
