Yellow pines grow on steep rocky slopes in this picturesque canyon. Many hairpin turns, cut from rocky walls, permit brief glimpses of the road far below in the canyon. As you reach the bottom of the canyon, after a 2,000-foot descent, the road winds among willows and cottonwoods.
