Silver Creek

A lively settlement consisting of scattered houses and a few stores, stands on the crest of a hill above the Cowlitz River.

Silver Creek rises on the south slope of Allen Mountain in northeast Lewis County and flows south to the Cowlitz River southwest of Randle. Early settlers found small, bright particles in the creek which they mistook for silver, hence the name.
