The “Smith Barn” long dominated the landscape of the historic agricultural cultural landscape of the Ebey’s Landing, often mentioned as the “largest barn on Whidbey Island” and had been the subject of countless photographs and paintings. Unfortunately, the Smith Barn burned in March of 2017, but the family has plans to rebuild the barn for continued agricultural use.
